he firm was established in 1929 by Joseph Jackson and Alex Smith, Sr. Upon their retirement, Charles Mayer and Alex Smith, Jr. were the two most senior members and the firm became Mayer & Smith. Following Caldwell Roberts addition, the firm became Mayer, Smith & Roberts. In the 1950s the firm moved its offices from downtown Shreveport to the historic Highland neighborhood which provides the firm and its clients easy access to all parts of the area. Mayer, Smith & Roberts, L.L.P. has consistently enjoyed a reputation for the highest legal work and ethical standards.
