Preparing for Surgery

🐾 Booking – Call us to schedule your pet’s desexing appointment.
🐾 Bathing – Dogs should be washed the day before, as they cannot be bathed after surgery until stitches are removed.
🐾 Fasting – Feed your pet as normal the night before, but remove food overnight. Water is allowed until 8am on the day of surgery.
🐾 Health Checks – A pre-surgical exam and optional blood tests ensure your pet is fit for anaesthesia.
🐾 Pain Management – All pets receive pain relief during and after surgery to ensure their comfort.

After Surgery: Recovery & Care

🐾 Keep your pet calm and quiet to allow for proper healing.
🐾 Offer small portions of food the evening after surgery.
🐾 Monitor the wound twice daily for swelling, redness, or discharge. Contact us immediately if concerns arise.
🐾 Prevent licking or chewing with an Elizabethan collar.
🐾 Attend all post-operative check-ups to ensure a smooth recovery.
